This fella came out to warm himself on the rock, I believe. He stayed until I was finished taking pics of him, and he had warmed up.
Beautiful song from a starling
I was attempting to take a pic of a gnarly tree and was so taken by his song that I stopped and looked around for him.
Still hanging on...
The sound of them rustling in the trees was beautiful....

Colour amidst the browns and beiges....
Yellow - the colour of spring.
These will be spectacular when they bloom!
So strong, to have pushed up through the hard ground, and yet so delicate.
The pond outside the gazebo (and Tommy Douglas' resting place) still had ice on it, and yet these little guys were swimming around....
....and still hanging on....
I spotted this tombstone as I walked one of the paths through the cemetery. It is outside the others and is perched on the side of an embankment. Such an odd place for it to be.
Obviously a newer addition to the grounds. Very solemn and peaceful.
